It needs to be model RM8501 "LF": the one with the door hinge on left (facing it)

(It is this fridge but with the door opening the OTHER way.)

RM8501 is discontinued and rolls to RM8505 which has the wrong door swing and is also discontinued with no substitute listed on the Dometic site. They seem to do a lot of this lately.

You may be stuck trying to find something that will fit the opening a closely as possible with the least modifications to the cabinetry. Always a challenge.

If you have a power system that can handle the extra 12v load needed, including compressor frigs might give you a lot of other options for trying to fit the opening and door swing requirements.

FYI: In my experience, the door can be mounted either way. They sell a kit to do this, but I removed the door parts from my old fridge before taking it to the dump. I also removed the controller module in the back and the control panel to keep as spares.

I'm with Johnny, pretty sure the door hinges are reversible.
We had a Dometic that was not fully closed and we broke the hinge mounting hole by stopping too quickly. Take the door off and you'll probably see.

Consider getting a 12 volt compressor refrigerator instead of the 3 way. The Dometic 8501 is susceptible to high altitude; I had one originally and in the owner's manual it states that altitudes above 3,250 feet may cause the unit to not function. When I returned to sea level it started working again. This is a serious limitation.

Of course, it does draw battery power, but, it's only 2.2 Amps per hour when it's running. If you have a solar panel system it will run 24/7 with no problem. My Nova Kool R3800 was a perfect replacement size. Door swing can be ordered either way and it is reversible.

Good luck.

I changed the door opening direction of my Dometic fridge which required new hinges. The door could be reused by changing the location of the handle, closure, etc. but it needed mirror image hinges. Took some detective work to find them.
