Hello...
We have just purchased a 2000 Leisure Travel - Discovery that we knew needed some front end work. Is there anyone who can recommend a good, reliable mechanic/shop to work on this Dodge Ram 3500 in the Madison, WI or Dane County WI area?
TIA

Welcome to the forum Chris!

Seems the old Dodges run forever, but are not know for their, um . . sharp handling.:) Others have had their steering boxes replaced with a sturdier after-market one. A good idea to address front suspension on any older van.

Good luck.

Hey Dogman,
I appreciate your response. I was hoping for a local, small business as opposed to the Dodge dealer who have always seemed to me to be quite expensive.
Cheers,

I am originally from Madison myself. I have always taken my vehicles, including my van, to Seversin's on the east side on Milwaukee St. If you are willing to take a bit of a drive, Dirty Deeds Garage in Horicon is outstanding.

I have also had good luck with Kruse up in Baraboo. Kruse was able to fix the handling issue I was having with my 1994 PW Dodge 3500 (sway bar links). Why not take your van to the Dells, enjoy the nice fall colors, and drop it off at Kruse?

Firestone is good for a cheap brake and overall check as well.

edit: Don't forget to ask about door height and lift capacity when having your van in for service.

thanks everyone.
I took it to Smith's Service Center on the NE side of Madison.
So far... happy with their work.
Cheers,
OC
