Mercedes Metris Camper Conversion?

Hi,

I'm thinking about the Mercedes Metris van as a camper conversion. Not much information available on who's doing the conversion and if anyone is manufacturing camper parts for the metris (eg bed, roof racks, cabinets, etc). Any help or pointers to places where folks are talking about this is greatly appreciated.

- GTRV (Dozen or so build thus far using Reimo interior)
- Reimo Americas (in Prototype)
- Recon Campers (Waiting on MB official camper upfitter model end of 2016/Q1-17)
- Sportsmobile (Just announced they will start building on the Metris Chassis)

I just wanted to clarify our Metris conversion. As a third generation Ford engineer and being a company made up of mostly automotive engineers, we take safety and the US regulations very seriously. All vehicles need to have passed US federal motor vehicle safety standard (FMVSS). Although there are components in Europe that might fit on the Metris here in the US, like the Reimo parts that might meet European standards (like TUV seat pulls or M1 pulls in England) they still must be tested here in the US and meet the US requirements and until they are tested and proven that they comply with US FMVSS standards the conversion is not certified to be safe or FMVSS approved.

We should be through roof crush testing on the Metris this winter and complete the required seat pull testing on the Metris in the late spring of this year (2017). Once all the required testing is complete we will release our Metris conversion to the public via our website and social media.

That is a great approach. Built it right the first time. I have been impressed by your Nissan builds and I am excited to see what you do with the Metris.

Is the NV200 Camper you folks make FMVSS tested as well,I didnt see any mention of that on your website or facebook posts, I would be interested in a small micro camper.
