Need advice on replacing the flooring

Hi there,

We just took out the 20 year old carpet in the dodge xplorer we just purchased, and am looking for some advice as to what is the best replacement for this. We definitely do not want to replace with carpet. Right now, I'm thining linoleum or cork? Can anyone share their suggestions or past experiences with flooring? we're planning on taking many coastal trips and also heading out to burning man, so durability and ease of maintenance is key. Thanks in advance for any information

I like linoleum or vinyl flooring in my RV particularly around the dining, kitchen and bath areas which is almost the whole rig in a Class B

You should definitely go, it's pretty amazing, an entire city gets built in the middle of the nevada desert (it's actually an old riverbed that's looks like a desert) for 2 weeks, then afterwards broken down completely to the point that you would never know it ever existed. No vending, no trashbags, trek everything in and leave no trace; the only thing you can buy there is coffee and ice; which creates a pretty neat environment. My wife and I have been twice, tent camping, it's definitely going to be better with our 89 dodge xplorer. I had a quick look at the Burning Man website. It presents as an extensive description of
the history of the event. Too much info for me at one sitting.
Any chance of a layman's definition of what it is, and why one might want to go,
where the ticket money goes (charity? support and organization costs? pays for
the coffee and ice they sell?). Is it a Woodstock "I was there, man!" kind of thing?
I read the 10 principles and am unsure as to what they all mean.
It does sound interesting and very unusual, and I'm going to assume it's trying to set some
sort of environmental maintenance example for the rest of the world?
I'm curious.

It's basically a twisted experiment in community and human interaction. You can't buy anything, but you can barter and trade. Lots of self reliance principles and sharing among community. You can get as crazy as you want, or as tame, no one tells you what you can and can't do (except some nevada police that wanders the area). Lots of people spend all year building this huge crazy art, that gets erected, and burned at the end of the week. The principle behind the burning of the man, is to burn in effigy the years bad stuff, and start renewed. The ticket money goes toward setting up the event and the grants that they give to artists to build artwork and bring it there, it also goes to some charity as well. The ticket price is high, since there is no real vending, and no advertising allowed. There are people who go solo, but lots of people create theme camps which run the gamut from teaching how to hula hoop to serving breakfast while showing porn (camp is called porn n' eggs, nifty). It's a great adventure, and something that should be experienced at least once

Greetings to all...first time on this forum and am about to replace carpet on a newly acquired camper van. Was searching for much needed needed advice, opinions. I was considering a 'rubber' type flooring, like the kind that comes standard in the Honda Element for ease of cleaning, etc.

Also, is flooring replacement an easy DIY project for a newbie?

Appreciate thoughts and ideas.

We just finished replacing ours with these vinyl planks that look like pergo, you can get them at home depot for 50 bucks a box, which covers 24 sq feet. It was super easy to install, they have a sticky material on the outside, and you just click and stick them together. They cut real easy with a box cutter, all you need is a straight edge and box cutter to install. We used some strong double sided tape as well to stick on the non flat portions. I think the brand is called Allure. We're very happy with the results and it was a breeze to install...
