In Malibu right now & my Scooter on a rack in the middle of some big winding hills managed to come loose just enough that the handlebar went through the window.

I sent a request just now to Roadtrek Customer Service.

Has anyone had to replace either window before & what worked out the best.

If it's going to take some time, is there an option to replace it with a standard rear window like a normal van or is the cutout different?

Thank you in advance for any ideas.

If you are talking about the left rear door window, not on the side of the van, that is a standard Chevy part and may be available at any glass replacement shop or GM dealer.

If you are correct, Hallelujah!

Right Rear Window, Drivers Side, here it is;

If you are still full timing, get a sheet of insulation foam at home depot and tape it in place to keep the cold air where you want it

Thank you Gentlemen, On a contract for a week or so but will endeavor to get a window set up when I get back into town. So very good it's a simple OEM Part.

That's good news as the new Roadtrek company is no longer doing the Chevy rigs, nor carrying any of the parts. Another company whose name escapes me at the moment purchased all remaining parts inventory (and molds) and have been helpful I hear. It might be worth joining the Facebook page for the RT Chevy rigs.

I'd likely use safelite, claiming on my insurance ( i have glass coverage)- which is easy for me

I know you like to use indy repairs- many of the pick a part places ( sun valley) will pull window glass and either sell cheap or sell it to a local glass shop.

you should be able to gets thru this for not too much money

Someone mentioned the company today that bought out the old Roadtrek company's Chevy inventory. It's Mobilife rv centre in Kitchener Ontario.

In case anything comes up in the future...

Thank you everyone - knowing it's an OEM Chevrolet part is really good news - this is what I received from Roadtrek aka Almost Hymer - aka Rapido;

Good Morning ,

We do not have parts for the older products 2 companies picked up a number of items through the Liquidation of EHGNA and the setup of Roadtrek Inc by Rapido.

temporary quick repair for immediate security, cut a sheet of 1/2 plywood to cover the opening and then span it on the inside with a piece of 2 x 4 and put bolts thru to hold it in place

Fortunately I am at the ranch in Malibu high in the hills, locked behind a gate for 2 weeks - called All Star Glassfor a quote & they are going to back to me but the glass installed is approximately $525!

I haven't looked at other 2004 Chevrolet Van's but hope the replacement fits the same mechanism we have in place, this is what I have

*and they need my VIN# to give me exact details Monday so I will go with a local independent

I have glass coverage, it's about $60

Just about each of my vehicles requires a new windshield every year and a 1/2

either gravel on the road or my car new years morning had windscreen shot out by some "good guy with a gun"

I use safelite which is easy and quick, can set up appt through progressive website

think about adding glass coverage if you don't have it.

chevy used the same rear windows for decades..from 1996 to current

amazon $83:

the same part used for decades becomes cheap.

i know you like dealing with local shops in the valley- call your upholstery guy and ask him who does glass cheap-

used OEM is ok as long as the tint matches - probably preferable to knock off

BTW... Brian at Van Life is one of the good guys. Honest and dependable, and we are thus far getting stellar reports about his service department. He is a new RV dealer and carries the new Roadtreks along with others.

If anyone is ever on the road near Jackson with mechanical issues, he will make every effort to get you repaired and on your way. (unlike way too many dealers who will maybe try to fit you in the schedule in 5 or 6 months)
