Hi everybody...We just bought a new 2007 Gulfstream Vista Cruiser...Dodge van base with a Mercedes Benz diesel engine.
I haven't seen any information about Gulfstream Sprinter vans anywhere... even the Gulfstream site. I joined a Road Trek group on Yahoo but one of the members is unhappy that somebody other than a RT owner is posting and asking questions :( We are brand new to RVing and I would like a group that I can get information from and discuss RVing in general. Thanks.

Welcome Chelliep! That's what this group is for! Forum member Bruce Campbell has a Gulfstream Class B. I know he's happy with it.

Ask any question you want. Most Class B's are similar in one way or another.

The Class B - Camping Van Conversions section on rv.net is another forum you might want to check out.

Like I noted above, ask any question you want here. That's what makes the forum work :D

Which model Gulfstream do you have?

Vista Cruiser

Hi and thank you for the welcome...
We have the G-30. I did like the front setup of the G-24
with the dinette... but I really wanted the single sofa in the
back. I think it makes the van seem larger. There is also
a lg sqare hassock on each side of the aisle right behind
the stove and TV so that gives you 2 more seats.

Gulfstream really improved the house this year. The cabinets
are made of real wood instead of vinyl wrapped plywood and the round sink and curved, extended doors enclosing the
toilet/shower are much nicer. There is also a nice sized
wardrobe.

I was confused about the fridge thinking it was a 3 way and
could use propane but have learned that it's all electric.
Switching from 110v to 12/24v depending on if you are
driving or not.

The sofa in the rear is a nice feature.

I'm curious to find out if you have 1 or 2 house batteries. The specs I've seen aren't clear on that point.

You should be able to download a manual for your fridge from this link:

http://www.thetford.com - Refrigerators

I'd really like to know how well the fridge performs once you've had a chance to use it.

The only concern I've read about re: Gulfstream Sprinter B's is that the on demand hot water might not get the water very hot. Specs state that it'll heat to approx. 30° above water temperature in the fresh water tank. I guess it really depends on how cold it is.

You'll have to let us know how well it works for you.

Congrats on the new Sprinter B!

We only have one house battery and it is very hard to access.
It's in a wood cabinet on the floor in front of the sofabed.
You have to unscrew the wood top of the box and then there are like 10 hex head screws you have to unscrew to open the battery. I wanted to have 2 batteries but I don't see where I would put the second one.

The all electric fridge is a Norcold Tek II... and we probably will never take a shower in the van so the hot water is not that much of an issue. I thought we would heat water in the microwave to make tea but the salesman told us to use the
gas burner. Seems it would be easier to use the MW..

I guess you have to turn on the generator to use the MW.

We bought a Gulfstream vista cruiser mb24 sprinter engine somehow connected to freightliner also. It's very confusing. We found out that we have to travel 45 miles to a much smaller town than the one we live in just for service. We went on one trip so far and now I am grounded until medical is resolved :( No trip this year to the Northwest.
It is very hard to find info on these units. I have managed a list of service but I had to work very hard to get it. They kept telling me to go to Janesville, Wi. I just didn't think that would work if we were in Oregon :D
Maybe we can help each other out. Sharon
