Hi, I'm Martha. My husband and I are 61, and we are new to RVing.

We pick up our Class B Winnebago Era 70X on Monday (June 19). We are really excited, but also a bit overwhelmed and I'm sure we will be more-so on Monday after the PDI.

My dream is to go cross country over a period of a year (or more?).

I hope to learn a lot from everyone here! Thanks for the add. :D

when you have questions about how to fill tanks or dump tanks or...

youtube is always a great resource.

and trading stories with other rv-ers in the campground or where ever you meet.

I spent many hours in the driveway learning how stuff worked and we did a couple of single overnights before heading out for longer trips.

keep it fun!

We are your age and got our Winnebago Travato about 10 weeks ago. We are happy with the quality and features. It was on order for 3 months and I'd done lots of research before that. Even adding a thorough walk through there is still a ton to learn now that we have it, but it's been fun (especially since we haven't uncovered important problems). We've traveled around North Carolina for 21 nights so far and our dream has come true....We've spotted about 10 dragonflies new to us. You need to be at the right place at the right time and van has taken us there.

If you tent camped before, you will probably find you have plenty of room in your Era -- it's even bigger than mine. I also hope to travel further, out west and south Florida. It seems possible now. I hope you are as delighted with your new van!

Martha, congrats to you and your husband on your Era 70X, you are going to enjoy your cross-country trip in your new rolling home. We were all knew once, but all you have to do is ask and someone will have an answer or head you in the right direction. You can do some "dry-run" camping trips in the driveway, and you will have it nailed before you head out for some camping and sight-seeing trips. Ron
