We rented a campervan in ireland and really liked it- and then started looking at home.
we decided against a trailer as I hate pulling- and our old P/U would likely need replaced.
I wasn;t interested in a larger RV.
a B's advantages are mpg, parking, ease of driving- but always costs more per sq ft
for some a C might be a better value
our comfort factors were large bed- which means most sideways sleepers are out- and the midnight climb over disturbs both ( and dog).
some RT models have a drop floor- which I kept tripping on
we only needed 2 swivel seats
and we didn;t need a large bath ( large bath almost always means smaller bed)
i am skeptical of some of the newer energy systems and we have an old tech 2006 pleasure-way Lexor TD- this is on a chev.
which I or anybody anywhere can fix with parts from any napa etc...cheap
other brands/models may need specialist repairs, parts, equipment...with a supply chain to Italy or Germany etc.
If you are not DIY- then no matter what you get you will be paying so there is less differential chev/ford/fiat ( dodge) MB.
best you get out and kick some times, the more units you look at the better you can balance your requirements and which features work or do not work for you
when you are in there , lift cushions and look into crannies to judge the quality of the build, cabinetry, electrical and plumbing lay outs. some and better than others
youtube has plenty vids from dealers which demo units- watch how the often large salespeople move around the cabin
RT has brochures for legacy models on the their website as do some other makers
we are completely happy with our choice and have quick overnights, week longs and a couple of month long trips under our belt.
Our van is parked at home and we can take off to local lakes and forests within a few hours of deciding to go
( and if the whole world goes to heck we are ready to bug-out- happy thoughts)
