Norcold 300.3 3-way fridge

Works in AC & DC mode. Not working in propane mode. Fridge is about 3 years old. Full timed for a year, parked for close to 11 months (worked fine even after being parked), used off and on for a few months, now it is acting up. Haven't had any routine maintenance done on fridge.

Flame looks OK (steady and blue) but fins inside fridge not getting cool / cold. There is slight odor of propane coming out of the top vent (an upper side vent, not a roof vent). Can't seem to find any propane leaks in the gas plumbing. Have blown out burner box & flue with compressed air, but haven't lit it back up to see if that fixed the problem. Stove run problem free off the same propane tank.

Burner need additional cleaning? Bigger problems? Thoughts?

Never quite solved the problem. Now it won't even light, blows out a blast of flame and doesn't stay lit. Fun party trick, not good for making the fridge run in propane mode.

Guess I should clean / replace all the wiring connections (per that service bulletin in your above post) ?

I'm below a 1/4 of a tank of propane too. Stove works fine, but fridge won't light. Would being low on propane cause the fridge not to light? Never had that problem when running low on propane before...

I would bet that your flame oriface is still dirty.....If it flashes, it is getting propane, probably just not a steady amount.

Compressed air usually works for me, but you may have to take it right apart to see what may be in there

Think I've got the problem solved! Burner was clogged so I used alcohol to scrub out the slits. Compressed air wasn't going to cut it. Luckily I didn't have to remove the burner or oriface. Cleaned up things, reinstalled my gas plumbing, and it fired up first go. It is sounding healthier and I'm not getting a propane smell out of my top vent or in my fridge.

Thanks for the advice folks!

Alcohol solves another problem. :drinkers:  :partyman:

Actually, it is an excellent cleaning agent for sticky stuff like tree sap, or whatever else might
wind up on your vehicles. I used some today to remove an unknown sticky substance from the
hood of the truck. Think it was tree sap.
