onan swap for champion

hi took out the onan only showing 30 hours but wouldnt fire up traced it to poss the small blue unit [coil] but cant source one here across the pond so bought a champion inverter one 2200 over here duel fuel 2500 over your place it took a bit of moding but sts in the gen box and can run it in there too as added ext to exa built a frame to raise the bed over the gen box etc

It looks like it fit nicely with room to spare. How does it do on heat dissipation? Any overheating? Do you run it on Gasoline or Propane? Does it start the A/C OK?

hi ye it has to go in from the top but fits ok i put a piece of stainless at the back by the exhaust and extended the pipe out through the hole that was there easy enuff ive had it runing the ac ok for a good few hours and the microwave works ok too it gets a little warm but nothing too much ive just had it on gas at the moment it is a quiet unit and light enough to lift it out if you wernt happy with it sat there but i can start it where it is easy enuff and appears to be doing ok at running the van i looked at the honda but price was a lot more over here i could buy 3 for one honda ,they are the same size so a honda would fit too just had to use some 2x1 to make the frame to raise it used origanal bed base then

Yes I often wondered who was the genus who thought of mounting it underneath in all the dirt and mud. Its just about not accessible for any maintenance. It could of had an access panel from above or the side, about like what you have done.

Sure looks to me that you are going to need more ventilation mate. Easy to do: an inlet, an outlet, and 2-4 big computer fans just might do the trick. Pushing air from the inlet probably best due to heat concerns, but less efficient than pulling.
