Polishing a Metal-Sided Class B

How important is it to polish a metal sided B Class?
Is it mostly for appearance reasons?

From what I have heard, the factory finish is good. Waxing would make it shine, but probably isn’t necessary.
But, to each his own.

I think a coating to protect a bit from the UV can help a bit, but any finish will dull and oxidize eventually. The big thing for me is a good coat of Collinite white carnuba wax really helps when trying to get the bugs and tar off.
