At home I'm an avid recycler (which Oregonian isn't?) and would like to do as much as I can on the road. At home I separate and compost food scraps and recycle everything else I can. Has anyone come up with a good way of doing this on the road?

I can tell you we have no problem getting rid of food scraps as the dog is very happy to do her part. So far our trips have been fairly short and we had a seperate bag that we put out soda cans in. Everything else we put in trash when we refuel.

Some campgrounds have recycling bins. These photos were taken in Oregon

We've seen recycling cans and bins and dumpsters pretty much everywhere we've been.
NPS places have all sorts of large bins like the ones in the pics, usually near the entrances to the camping areas,
and often near their welcome/info centers. We just ask, where ever we are.
There's always McDonalds, some truck stops, and some Walmarts have recycle bins.
Find a State Capitol, they seemed to have recycling on site or nearby, as well. :D
That's for the metal/glass/plastic stuff. Food scraps aren't a problem for us as we don't
usually have any. :)

Thanks so much. In Oregon, I know where to recycle, but I wasn't sure elsewhere.
