Has anyone had this problem, and if so, what you did to fix it? When it rains, the fabric beneath the rear windows leak.

I presume you mean the rear side window. Sounds like the sealant around the window might need to be redone (drying out). Water leak can be difficult to trace and you may need to do some "trial and test" to see where it is coming from. My first assumption would be from around the window, but who knows, it may be caused from somewhere else...!

Wait until it dries out and either have someone with a hose or use a sprinkler setup to spray water on the window while you watch for leaks. Move it around as needed. My guess is gasket is leaking.

I would use some windshield sealant around the frame. (It's thinner and finds the small crevasses. I would also order some RV window gutters. It's about a 1" self adhesive rubber material that diverts the water. I use it on my fridge vents and lower storage cabinet.

Hi Tom! I tried the windshield sealant and that didn't do it, however, window gutters. That's a great idea. thanks.

I think Chicago Tom was referring to product like Capt Tolley's sealant that is a very thin liquid that will wick into small crevice leaks. It is said to work well.

Finding the leak is tough especially with water coming in from the outside in a Class B as it is fairly often coming from a long way away from where you see the water. A rear side window water show up could come from a leak at the roof AC unit or vent fan for instance.

The best test is a smoke test where a visible smoke is put in the cab an then the cab is pressurized, often with just the van ventilation system on fresh air not re-circulation. Shops would probably have a window fan to put on it. You would be amazed how places it comes of a class B.

Hi,

I had leaks around the side rear windows on my Agile. While still under warranty, the dealer repair center performed a Roadtrek procedure. They cut a couple channels on the bottom exterior trim around the windows. The trim acts like a rain gutter. It clearly allows the water to drain off faster and I have not had an issue since.
