Confusion with reference to the Battery Disconnect Switch (on the monitor panel) ? Here's the definitive answer to it's usage/function from Scott Holden (a Service, Warranty & Parts Specialist with Roadtrek):

"The charging system functions this way:

1. With the Van's engine running, both batteries are charging regardless of the BDS's on/off position (in the original R/T configuration).

2. The auxiliary battery will charge when the BDS is in the ON position PRIOR to plugging in to shore power.

3. The auxiliary battery will charge when the BDS is in the ON position PRIOR to starting the generator.

Understand that when R/T states "the BDS is in the ON position" you must have twelve volt power present. Try turning on a light in the area to ensure 12v power is present."
