Running propane

The question is: Do you leave your propane valve open while traveling? What I am referring to is leaving the propane valve open, and NOT running any appliances. Such as the refrigerator. We normally run the frig on battery while traveling, but when we stop, we'll turn it on propane. We will open the propane valve while stopped and then turn it off when we begin our travels. It would be easier to just leave it open and turn the frig off and on from the inside, rather than monkeying around with the propane valve all the time. This would also leave the lines filled with propane, making it easier to start the frig or burners. Currently, we need to start the burners each time to get gas through the lines before getting the frig started. Any thoughts on this as a safety issue?

Personally I'm paranoid about such things and would probably turn it off so that the system is dry while in motion.
