Steve here. I'm in West Virginia . Just found this forum. Will be getting one of these in the next few weeks.

Looking for a forum that is for these older camper vans. Seeing a lot of good here so thought I'd stick around.

Welcome aboard, that is a nice looking rig. Heck, we don't age discriminate, matter of we don't discriminate! The systems are usually made up with the same equipment. These folks here are the best at providing solid ground tech support and advice on "how to."

Well we never found A Class b we could afford

We did get a van though. Found an 88 Model E150 on Craigslist. Got her for $1,200. Drive it over 200 miles home and have been driving it every day since. Love it . Fixing to start the bed build on it in a couple days.

All we could afford but we are loving it. No rust and drives and runs like new.

That is an amazing looking Van - $1200...you can invest money in whatever you need and still be ahead. Again, congrats. Ron

Thats a great looking van, easy to work on, parts are easy to find, and the best part is that its affordable. Great find, let us know if you do any mods to it,,,,, best of luck,,,,, take care,,,,

Well the 1200 dollar van is ready to go.

Yanked out the seats to build a bed with storage under it.

The decided i would need a cabinet too.

The cabinet idea quickly turned into a sink basin after I found this clear water tank on Ebay.10 gallon.

Added a 12 volt pump and the pipe is the fill to the tank.

Then the top and front of the cabinet had to come back off.Added a 3 burner propane stove with oven.

This is Plan B (that's the name of the van) today. 43 days after the purchase. Still well under 2k in it including purchase price, new alternator and battery plus all the stuff inside.

We are really happy with her. I know she isn't a class B but since we couldn't afford one we did a plan B instead and you don't get much stealthier then this. Anyone seeing this would just think yeah just a van until they opened the doors. The shore power i installed in the front gas tank filler door. There is no front tank so this is perfect.Anyone asks why I have a cord going into my gas tank I just tell them " I have a small smart car inside and I am charging it " lol.
Oh and BTW she has been inspected and approved by Buddy The Adventure Dog.

Pic was taken before the build was finished but he was still excited about it .

Boy, you got that done really fast! That's a snazzy conversion - you'll really have lots of fun with it!

Yes we are really enjoying it . Hoping to be adding some new videos of our adventures soon on our youtube channel too. Buddy The Adventure Dog says he can't wait.
