Members are troubleshooting sewer hose replacement for early 2000s Roadtrek models without macerators, focusing on storage constraints and hose durability. The original poster notes a pinhole leak and discovers that Roadtrek’s unique hose storage compartment (about 30 inches long) limits the use of ultra heavy-duty hoses, which often collapse to lengths exceeding available space. Several RVers share their experiences: one successfully uses a Valterra heavy duty 15’ hose but confirms it’s a...

02 Roadtrek, no macerator, regular dump hose. In the middle of finishing a couple projects and the dump hose has a pinhole leak in it. Started poking around the internet and realized the Roadtrek is a different setup for hose storage. So the ultra heavy duty hoses might not be the right choice. So first question is how much hose will fit in the storage? What hoses have worked well for others?

‘00 Roadtrek 190 pop. I purchased the Valterra heavy duty 15’. I replaced it myself. This is doable but a bit of a hassle to get access with not much clearance. It is working fine. I actually bought two of these and find it just as easy to connect the second hose right at the outlet when I dump.

Thanks for the response, I keep meaning to measure the length where the hose is stored and keep forgetting. I have the 02C200P and there is more ground clearance to work under.

I have a 04 210P and my Maceratir broke. I completely removed the stock small hose. I then removed the Macerator and installed a 90 degree Female 1/4 turn outlet in place of the reducer that was installed in the outlet adapter. I now gravity drain my black and grey water tanks this way. You do have to lay on the ground to connect the hose but it is doable. I have the large storage locker on the 210 so hose storage is not an issue. I expand the hose to use and then collapse it for storage.

Here are a few pictures. This actually works better than the Macerator did. The original set up is slow. This dumps the tanks in minutes.

The 90 degree adapter has three different thread sizes. The smallest fit perfectly in the adapter and the hose clamp bites nicely into the threaded portion making a tight seal.

I built a bus conversion with both gravity dump and macerator. Ten years full time and I almost never used the macerator.

I got a rough measurement on where the hose is stored today, about 30 inch, does not leave me a lot of options for new hose.

I had a set up like that and carried a crow bar with me. I could remove sewer hose covers and dump with no problems!

Sorting through the hoses and seems they come 7-28 mills thick. My last RV came with a very thin blue hose and it did not last so the thicker the better. Problem is the manufactures do not want to give the storage length. I did find a few but takes too much time. Valtera Dominator 15 foot hose collapses to 56" far too long for my 30 inch storage. Camco Rhino flex 15 foot needs 56" for storage.
