Snow

Re: Snow - Again!

It snowed all Night, still snowing! Temps. about 33f... Probably warmer in Minneapolis, Madison, Ottawa, Chi. town & NYC etc. than No. Central Ariz... Did a 950mile Motorcycle trip around Eastern AZ mountains, Tucson & low desert on Thursd, Friday & home Sat. Ev. before the snow hit.
LUCKy Me!

We are having a record heat wave this week. 80 yesterday and 80 again today here in Minneapolis/St. Paul. There has never been anything remotely like this in my 42 years in Minnesota.

Probably 70F yesterday and 75F today mid-coast in New Brunswick! Must be a record. Snow is just about gone. Little bit in the back yard up against the woods. BBQ'ing and out 'til 7pm .......still warm    :drinkers:

Har Har! Good one about the shootin' range. I didn't mean to say I dislike Montana. Actually I LOVE the place for the reasons you stated & more. I grew up there. My wife was born & raised in Butte. Both of my kids (now adults) were born in Roundup & grew up in Libby. Great memories in Mont. And it nearly broke my heart when we left in '86. But we discovered Arizona and like the winters & spring & fall so much better. Summers we head north - usually to Mont, Idaho, Wash. etc. We have been privileged to live in some really great places in Mont. & Ariz. So I am picky.
I shouldn't be so argumentative & testy!! Regards, Ric.

You have been blessed to have experienced the benefits of both ends of the western half of your
country. We like both AZ and MT, depending on the time of year and season, of course.
We tend to be late Summer, early Fall travelers when we head west, and we've never been
disappointed in either place by the weather, the sights, and the people.

I really have no desire to live in two places. I know people who do. One house to maintain is enough for me especially after dickering around for two days trying to repair a toilet and learning the last part needed, a tank to toilet gasket, had to be special ordered. I finally gave up and just bought a new toilet and installed it. Despite all, the total cost, including wasted repairs made to the old toilet, my total cost was still less than calling a plumber. Nice to be retired. I'd hate to have to work all day and come home to mess with that. The plus of two wasted days is I am now more of an expert on toilet repair and replacement. :)

I once did an exhaustive study on where the best place to live all year round would be. Surprisingly, the south, San Diego, Florida, Arizona, Texas, was not it. What I looked at was weather, both heating and cooling degree days, weather temperature extremes both high and low, weather extreme frequencies such as rain, snow, storms, tornadoes, hurricanes, sun, etc., and humidity comfort. What I found were two locations that were the best. One was Las Cruces, NM. The other, and you might find this one hard to believe, was Asheville, NC. The Willamette Valley, OR was third.

You are right - blessed & thankful - thanks for pointing that out.

As regards two or more residences per Davyyd - I totally agree 100%.
My Dad & Mom always owned 2 or more homes, sometimes in Montana plus Ariz. & later in Prescott & Phx. What a hassle - the moving back & forth was a lot of work, especially for my mother. Mainly 'cause my dad was a cheapskate & wouldn't buy duplicates of most small items (except appliances) so most every thing had to be packed up & transported back & forth twice per year. I think it finally just wore Mom out. They always had a big Class "A" for travel 'cause he wouldn't stay at Holiday-Inn or even
Motel 6. DW - Ann & I have One home plus rental property (for income & investment.) We love to travel in our R/T because it's better than motorcycle & tent.
And we will motel occasionally on an extended tour.

Not bragging but late Spring and Summer is nice in the Maritimes (on the coast) ...........

We had 90F temps and 40% humidity yesterday or the day before............

Yeah, winter is brutal but soon forgotten

Earlier in the week it was a sauna here, and of course, those were the days we chose to do
some heavy lifting packing and purging.
From Wednesday on to today, temps have been perfect and the humidity has relented.
Packing and purging is always more pleasant with nice weather.
