I just saw this on the news tonight, 5 dead in Tennessee at a charity biker rally, sleeping in an RV while
the generator was running. One of Mark Polk's safety don'ts. I agree, and have been excoriated for my opinion
on other RV forums, by those who feel it's safe, particularly when using "safety" systems like the Genturi, which
is a gimmicky generator tailpipe extension that Onan doesn't advocate or endorse, and that might actually do
more to reduce the Onan's exhaust noise, than to mitigate the effects of potentially lethal carbon monoxide.
I would not sleep in the RV while running my Onan, and would avoid gatherings where others were running their
generators nearby. Personal preference. I'd rather wake up hot and sweaty, than not at all.
