I am the proud owner of a 2003 HD with the worlds smallest Trans cooler and shudder in the Trans. WIWI Trans in Miami says Trans oil is 212* and a cooler would bring it down to 160*. so I bought the kit from Makco for $169 and had it installalled for $250. .The VW cooler was six " by 3" buried under the eng. I am hoping that, with another Trans oil change and some"Shutter Stopper" I will have saved the Trans.

Great that you added the trans cooler as this was the first thing that I did when I purchased my 04' HD. The shutter that you speak of could be the torque converter starting to break down. On the Big Tent site or Yahoo Rialta site I think there was discussion of this same problem. You may want to search those sites for information. Changing the trans fluid may solve the problem but keep an eye on it. Did you add the transmission bypass when you added the cooler? This lets the fluid warm up faster to operating temp and is needed in cold weather use.

Another thing that members have done was to purchase a Scan Guage II and program trans temperature to keep an eye on how hot the fluid gets.

We are another former LeSharo owner. We had an 84 turbo diesel for many years, eventually passing it on to our kids.
