Our best seat bed system has it all: 6'8" bed, full suite of safety features, variable location on demand, insulated form-fitted L-track floor, accepts modular accessories and crash tested to all known North American and European standards.

Available in the US now at Travois USA. www.travoisusa.com

In 2012 I researched TÜV approved rock & roll sofa beds for my conversion but with shipping from Europe $2.5-4K total cost led me to my own design. I designed and built my own for the Sprinter conversion using aluminum frame. At the beginning of the design phase I was contemplating 3 versus 4 panel designs ultimately settled on 3 panels. My key reason for this decision was better space with 3 panels design, the front panel moves back full 3’ from bed to seat positions.

So, why did you choose 4 panel design?
Which NA standard did you use to get legal approval for safety?
Does your >$5K price includes floor guides?

Very impressive George!

4 panels and 3 panels each have their own advantages.

We found that many of our customers prefer a bed with a length closer to a standard in-home bed. Plus, with our L-track floor system, we offer great flexibility with space utilization to give people the floor layout they want, when they want. The intent is to give people their cake and let them eat it too.

As far as North America standards, look to Canadian Motor Vehicle Safety Standards (CMVSS) and Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards (FMVSS).

Our Pro Floor (insulated, form-fitting one-piece L-track embedded) is sold separately. It is possible to use your own L-track. However, our crash testing is for our combined seat and floor system.

It is unfortunate that this product wasn't available when I started my conversion a few years ago. As far I an tell this is the first highway ready rock & roll sofa bed in NA.

When I questioned some of the European manufacturers about 3 versus 4 panels rear seating with open rear doors was often stated as 4 panel benefit. For our needs the 76" length prevailed.

Good luck.
