Westfalia in Europe has introduced an interesting new model based on the 6 meter (20 ft) VW Crafter chassis, named after Swedish explorer Sven Hedin:Features a very functional looking folding rear bed/storage area:With an intriguing window size slide-out that makes cross-wise sleeping practical for taller users:Of course we'll likely never see VW Crafter vans this side of the Atlantic but a similar layout on the 20ft Ram Promaster certainly seems viable.

And as a long ago VW Westy owner I always drool at the Teutonic efficiency of modern European campers. Of course I also cursed that old air cooled VW's mechanical foibles, so I'm glad they've updated their base vehicles!

It looks like a Hymer Active with a bed option. It removes the cabinetry and has a bed that raises. Personally, I prefer the cabinetry, but helpful for those who want to stick bikes in there I guess.

Many wouldn't like the permanent sink in the bathroom taking up the limited space.

Thanks for sharing. Were those refrigerator drawers? Very sleek! If only VW could/would export those to the US. From another former VW-Westy owner.
