This was a head scratcher seen on our recent trip to the US northeast
and we saw it during a rest stop in Matane, QC. :wtf:





Often imitated, poorly duplicated, perhaps?

I'd say it is genuine. My guess is mid '80's.

I saw a similar one in NB but it was not in good condition.

The 2 skylight windows up top really threw me.
I'd always thought all Roadtreks had 3, as a sort of trademark.

Just for fun, I sent my pics to Roadtrek Service for their take on it.
They (pretty adamantly) said it's NOT one of theirs. They estimated
it was a mid-90s GMC (Vandura possibly), and they didn't ever use GMC
vans, just Dodge and Chevrolet branded. They also offered the theory that
it might be an LT or PW with the Roadtrek decals somehow obtained and
applied. They said Roadtrek always had 3 windows up top, too.
It may be hard to tell from my pics, but this one wasn't exactly in
pristine condition. Maybe it's the one you saw Mark?

Like I said, Imitated, but poorly duplicated....

That's the same body and layout as my 1994 GMC 2500 Vandura, with embellishments added by someone. Was the company in Texas doing conversions then? I forget their name; in Elkhart and California with home factory in Austin, I think.

I'm officially an RV CSI Level 1. I think?
Oddly, we saw this van in Matane, QC.
A few minutes after we noticed it was gone, we witnessed a high risk
take down by the Surete on Route 132 not far from the Matane Welcome
Center. Some people in a Mercedes were stopped and arrested by a small
army of officers. We saw at least one pistol kicked away from the driver's
side door on the pavement, after it was tossed from the car.
It was a novel way to spend an hour or so.
