I bought a brand new Winnebago Travato 59GL (Volta lithium battery pack instead of Onan generator).

I put about 3,000 miles on it before the secondary alternator grounding wire failed / came loose / burnt up and melted a bunch of stuff.

The metal body of the alternator and the ground lug was melted off, presumably from the shorting / arcing current from the loose connector requiring replacement of the connectors and alternator (under warranty). That was 4 months ago.

Long story - slightly shorter... Winniebago customer support told me that Volta isn't honoring warranty claims anymore. Volta tells me that they aren't going out of business, but Winniebago says that they are attempting to buy the remaining stock of parts from Volta and that they are working on a long-term solution for warranty support on these Volta Pure3 lithium systems. They may end up swapping to Lithionics or another vendor that can adapt parts to work with the current Volta systems in the wild.

Lesson is, maybe consider this before buying a Travato or Boldt RV with the Volta Pure3 lithium system!

Yes - Volta is not supporting their warranty. Effects Winnebago, Airstream and Storyteller Overland B-vans.

So does anyone know what's going on with Volta? They aren't dealing with Winniebago at all, but my local dealer can order parts directly from Volta and Winniebago will reimburse for warranty repairs.

It's been confusing as **** and with my local dealer being completely useless, my van has been in the shop for 4 months now!
