Yup - it was a superb floor plan, and TMK it really didn't have any competitors in its production window. There was no other Sprinter-based B that offered the same combination of features.
Recommendation for the OP: When looking for a rare older Class B, it can be to your advantage to search nation-wide. If you wait for one to come on sale close by, you might be waiting a long time. Also, this particular rig is sought after by #vanlife aspirants because of the "garage" under the bed (most #vanlifers are young and are carrying recreational gear such as bikes and boards). Even if one does appear locally, there might be competition for it.
We searched nationally for the relatively rare van we wanted - an Airstream Interstate RS model, which has jackknife couches in the rear. We lost out on several sales because they were essentially sold within a few hours of posting, and we didn't get there first. We got ours only because my husband pressed "But It Now" on eBay about five minutes before the next person did. We flew one way to Memphis to pick it up, and drove it back to Houston.
