Re: New Roadtrek RS E-Trek

Sure. It will be just another storage compartment. It doesn't have to be vented as I am sure a lot of people carry disposables inside their vans. Disposables don't have a knob someone could...

Re: New Roadtrek RS E-Trek

The right box could be vented but it could not be enlarged in width because of the exhaust pipe and frame locking it in. I've carried disposable 1 lb. cylinders and on a typical 6 week trip I would...

Re: New Roadtrek RS E-Trek

The box would not be long enough for two as it would have to lengthen about 6" more. It might be possible but I am not pressing my request since I figure the remaining area could store a BBQ hose...

Re: New Roadtrek RS E-Trek

I know what it said and can understand your question, but this is not the first time Roadtrek has written something about the E-Trek without garbling it up. I mean lets be serious, if you are in a...

Re: New Roadtrek RS E-Trek

I'm not sure they are saying at the same time. I think they are just describing all the options for charging your batteries that are available to you and how much they will charge in a given period.

Re: New Roadtrek RS E-Trek

I'm not carrying the Weber Q but I understand the smaller ones will work off the throw away 1 lb. canisters. We do carry the Coleman two burner stove using those canisters. We also have a BBQ port...

Re: New Roadtrek RS E-Trek

I want to go all electric with our new Advanced RV so I am on a crash course to understand this stuff. I know I will want to know exactly how it works and will expect answers. I can't accept it is...

Re: New Roadtrek RS E-Trek

Marko, You admit to guessing and sleuthing in not having actually seen an E-Trek. Surly there are enough E-Treks on the road that someone could explain what is going on. Is Roadtrek trying to keep...

Re: New Roadtrek RS E-Trek

That was a piss-poor answer by RoadtrekJoe. Reminds me of that old sexual joke, "Trust me, I won't..." Anyway they sure are an arrogant bunch after making those initial claims of 9 hours of AC. Could...

Re: New Roadtrek RS E-Trek

I was referring to another video that was posted here in Class B Forum on the Sprinter model. That video you just cited is dated in that it was made with 2007 and earlier chassis model Sprinters....

Re: New Roadtrek RS E-Trek

It is very evident from the video Roadtrek put out that the floor is not insulated. Check it out for yourself. On another point. You said Mascoat was R6 insulation. That is hard to explain when it is...

Re: New Roadtrek RS E-Trek

Does Roadtrek include any documentation, diagrams, expectations and instructions for using their E-Trek features? In the past I thought they had the most thorough documentation and manuals in the...

Re: New Roadtrek RS E-Trek

I've had white and I have had silver. The next one will be a graphic metallic grey. One thing Advanced RV does is fill with R7 blue demin throughout and then cover the floor, roof and walls with...

Re: New Roadtrek RS E-Trek

I don't know the facts but I have heard this from Advanced RV and another source that even if an 11,000 BTU AC could accomplish the cooling that a 15,000 BTU AC would be more efficient. I would...

Re: New Roadtrek RS E-Trek

You can't count on that. If it is 100F outside that AC is probably going to stay on almost constantly. The poorly insulated Bs don't hold their temps very long. In watching the Roadtrek video it is...

Re: New Roadtrek RS E-Trek

Mike,

On the Advanced RV the safeguards are simple. The autostart is keyless with the doors locked. However, if someone did get inside the van and tried to engage the transmission the engine would...

Re: New Roadtrek RS E-Trek

We are getting the lithium batteries and solar along with a second engine alternator and M-B high idle option with our new B order. We will not have propane or an Onan generator. We will be working...

Re: New Roadtrek RS E-Trek

My V6 Sprinter engine is quite a bit quieter at high idle than the Onan generator. From my touring experience and B habits I don't really anticipate utilizing high idle to charge batteries. Shore...

Re: New Roadtrek RS E-Trek

Actually they are getting more and more vague. If one is going to pay $129,000+ for an RV I would hope they'd have better answers and information to mull over. But so far on all the message boards...

Re: Roadtrek E-Trek - Important information update

Marko,

On top of those revised estimates, they still don't go into, what I think, the rapid decline in battery performance. The second year is never as good as the first year and then you go...

Re: Roadtrek E-Trek - Important information update

The E-trek design is way overkill for my B travel habits of now over 110,000 miles.

Thinking about it.

One of my favorite desires is to camp in the southwest in spring and fall when overnight...

Re: New Roadtrek RS E-Trek

Anything battery related you have to be a little skeptical. Same with smartphones and tablets. They are great the first few months but batteries do start to deteriorate. There has always been a...

Re: New Roadtrek RS E-Trek

I talked to Dale yesterday. The E-trek is indeed sold and pending on working out the details of a trade in.

I picked up a 4-page brochure on the E-trek. The air-conditioning on batteries is...

Re: New Roadtrek RS E-Trek

The car companies are re-thinking electric cars. They feel they've exhausted what they can do with them in hitting a dead end. Plus they aren't selling as hoped. So maybe it is quite aways down the...

Re: New Roadtrek RS E-Trek

You are not going to get any accurate information on air-conditioning usage until after this summer. In both Florida and Arizona in the winter you should be able to get by without needing to run it...
