Default Towing with 1996 dodge ram pleasureway.

I was wondering if anybody has ever towed a small vehicle with a mid 90's Dodge Ram 3500 Pleasureway with a 318 motor or if it is even a good idea? It says the towing capacity is roughly 4000 and I have a ford escape that weighs 2500 GVW with a 2 wheel car dolly but I never see any class b camper vans towing anything.

Are you sure that the Escape is only 2500#?

An Escape can weigh 32-3700+ lbs, depending. Add the dolly and things get really close or over. Two of my brothers flat tow Chevy Trackers. One has a 93 Dodge Roadtrek with a 318 on a 1 ton. Takes him a bit to pull a grade but it gets it done. The Tracker weighs about 2600 and he is flat towing, so no dolly weight.

Watch the trans temps.
