Default 50amp to 30amp adapter

Do you need a 50amp-30amp converter when (in this case) a state park campground lists 50 amp power at site

I've never seen only a 50 amp connection in a park. There has always been a 30 amp socket available.

I always have a 50amp to 30amp adapter in my RV though. It looks just like this:

Thanks for the information. Probably will get one just in case.

I've only seen 50A in private campgrounds and usually in sites with full electric, water and sewer hookups. I try to avoid those mainly because they cost more. The vast majority of campgrounds have the 30A plug and they all seem to have an optional 15A or 20A plug as well. I suspect the same with a 50A site though I haven't been to one. That's just the way electrical boxes are designed. I carry a 30A to 15A adapter just in case. I use it when I visit a couple of private homes (out of necessity) and it handles everything except the air-conditioner.
