Chevy audible alert system - ineffective - I need a new one!
I've got the '02 Chev Express chassis. On the odd occasion where I'd like to "urge" a fellow
motorist to "expedite" whatever he might be doing, or suggest that what he is currently doing,
doesn't meet the basic requirements for normal or safe motoring, I have a problem. The factory
horn in my van is about as loud as a bunny fart. It is the most unobtrusive, lame sounding, poofy
schmuck horn I've ever heard, and I'd like any suggestions about where I can get a more assertive
audible signaling device, that might be easily (DIY?) installed in the same location and using the
same power source (12V DC?) as the factory unit. I don't want to go the air horn/separate compressor
route, although I saw some hybrids that have built in compressors, and look like they might fit
where the current one sits. The Wolo Bad Boy looks interesting.
Anyone tried replacing their horn? Issues or problems? Does GM have a better OEM choice?
Any thoughts and ideas welcomed.
