Default drive safely folks

My Wife was driving to work yesterday when one of her tires blew-out - in a 55mph zone - she was able to handle the vehicle to a safe stop but can you imagine what the result might have been had it been in the fully loaded Roadtrek, doing 80mph in W Texas ? Yikes !

That's scary.

I'm glad she's ok.

WOW! I agree, I bet that was scary for your wife. Glad she wasn't traveling any faster. That tire really looks "messed" up! I am also happy to hear that your wife is safe and sound

A follow-up:

I had the tire replaced yesterday - $180 out the door (zounds!) Wasn't it not too long ago that one could replace a set of 4 tires for that amount?

The tire guy showed me the culprit - a piece of metal about half the size of a box cutter blade - in the tread. He said that created the air leak, the loss of air caused the tire to heat, which caused the weakest part of the tire to explode - the side wall - it sure did do that !

Yes, a good Thanksgiving, in that she wasn't hurt..
