Default Minus 18*F this morning March 5 (Minneapolis)

Many years I have been out on nice (but chilly) bike rides by now, this is cold, late, even for us.

At least they are saying we will see near 50* by early next week. I am so ready for that, maybe we can even wash the van and finish the dump system tests.

That's cold

Very cold AND lots of snow describes our winter. It got up to around 37F here yesterday which was the warmest day in a long time.

Better weather is coming - don't ask me when - buts it's coming

It's 34ºF and snowing like crazy here in Greenwood, VA. We have had warmer days (it was 54ºF yesterday) and rain recently, but it's supposed to end up in the 20's this evening into tomorrow morning.

We got out of Minnesota February 2 and made a beeline to the southwest. It's been great. We are heading east now but staying far south. Right now we are in the Organ Mountains east of Las Cruces, NM at 5,700 ft elevation and it is a little nippy in the shade around 46 deg. We camped in Idyllwild, CA with temps at 28 deg. That was on Mt San Jacinto 5,400 feet elevation.

Sounds like a great trip Davydd - pretty amazing that you picked up that brand new unit and just kept rolling. AK49er's been on the road for a long time too You guy's will inspire lots of others to get out there and have fun.

We are 5,300 miles into this trip already. The mapping programs said it would be 11,400 miles total but that never accounted for all the back and forth running around. I suspect by the time we get to Washington DC via Florida dogleg and home again on about June 1 it will be well over 13,000 miles. This trip actually includes a brief stopover at home in April to pick up our mail and get our taxes done.
