Overnight at Florida Rest Areas with Night Security?

I "heard", and I am not sure where, that it is OK to overnight at the Florida rest areas that have signs posted "Night Time Security"

Can anyone confirm that this is correct? And if so, have you done this?

There are a dearth of camping options on the Gulf side of the state that have direct beach access. One option appears to be to overnight at a rest area and then "daytrip" to the beach.
