Default Quick connect propane hookup on Rt 210

Our new to us RT210 has a quick connect to run a hose off the rv tank to a grill or stove. There was no hose with our camper. On closer examination I notice that there is a regulator before the quick connect. I had been thinking about getting a six foot hose made up however both my Coleman and my force10 grill have their own regulators so I am thinking that in all probability my set up would not work and I am likely better off to buy the disposable bottles at Ctc or Wally world. Any suggestions or do you think my assumptions are correct concerning the quick connect set up.
