Default Xantrex 15A Inline Transfer Relay

Quote:
An easy to mount 15A Inline Transfer Relay provides switching between shorepower and inverter AC source. It comes with a power plug for convenient connection to the inverter GFCI and a hardwire cord for the AC input and output interface. It is available as an accessory to the Prowatt SW product line.

From what I've seen pricing is around $50. To be used with an Inverter.
I think I'll put one of these on the line to my RV fridge. At 15 amps AC it is more than adequate for that job.

I was confused until I got to the bottom. So, your fridge runs off shore (obviously) and an inverter?
So, does it shut off the inverter when it senses shore AC? You know how clueless I am about RV electrical.

No, it wouldn't shut the inverter off. AC grid current passes through when available. If off grid then the inverter takes over (if the inverter is turned on).
I think I'll get one because I like to run the fridge on AC when I'm driving around. Then I'll plug into grid power when I get to a campground this item will automatically switch the fridge to AC power not inverter power. At 15 amps I might just add this to the circuit in my van that includes the fridge and the microwave and an outlet in the back. If I don't have hook-ups then it is easy to switch the fridge to propane and turn the inverter off if not needed.
