I'd like to provide an update on a post and discussion we had last week in a couple of PW specific FB forums on the "secret" compartment and hidden GPS tracker on the 2011 Pleasure-Way Excel. Last week I was working inside my PW closet and noticed some give in the carpeted floor. Interesting! So, I used a screwdriver to lift the closet floor and discovered quite a bit of open space and a hidden Calamp GPS unit. It turned out the GPS unit, which was hooked up and drawing power, was used as part of the RVID program from around 2010-2014 by a number of RV manufacturers including PW. RVID offered a number of warranty tracking and GPS services on a subscription basic similar to Sirrius Radio. It sounds like they only lasted a couple of years and subsequently went out of business. Since it's a power draw without a purpose I'm going to disconnect the unit. The real find, though, was that smidgen of space in that compartment. My wife and I have been searching for some kind of laptop safe where we could stash our laptops, passports, and extra cash. Mainly to avoid smash and grabs. We couldn't find a good place to put this in the Excel and had given up. So, it seemed like the extra space under the closet floor might work. I added some gate pins to the floor, a touch latch to the front of the floor, and a padded compartment made from an old picture frame box and created a reasonable storage space. There are no visible indications that the compartment is there. You access it by pushing down slightly on the floor which then pops up courtesy of the push latch. Granted, it's not that convenient for hourly use since you have to take out the table and bedboard to get to it. But, for occasional use, when you're worried about security we think it will work well. I've attached some photos if interested. Thanks to Pete for the photo of the black tank in the closet

I have similar space in my 2006 PW Lexor. My water pump is located there.
I have converted with shelving to a pantry, the lower is a sliding basket for pots and pans.

Can lift out basket on plywood base to access this area
