I have a 2003 Rialta and they maintain highway speeds even through the mountains. I have owned my for 5 years and still love it. It is a two person camper in my view though small grandchild fits fine.

I had the same problem and found that it was the start button on the generator was sticking in the start position preventing the remote start button from functioning

I own a 2003 Rialta and it has been very reliable. Do your maintenance and VW's are reliable. The winnebago has fit issues as do most RV chassis. Love mine and have had it for 8 years.
