You Dodge would use different wheels as the offset is likely at zero instead of the +28 that the Chevies are starting in 2003. The previous generation Chevies were at zero like most rear drive...

The rear drive vans look at it as a 3 zone system with independent front sensors and one for the rear unless it has stability control, AFAIK. The system compares wheel speeds to determine in any are...

Hondo's drop knuckles move the fronts out a long ways. Stock there is very little track difference front to rear.

I know there is often a lot of discussion over where to measure the wheels. From a technically correct aspect it should be at the bead location of the rim, but in reality a lot of folks use the...

I don't understand how those offset vs backspace numbers are done. Wheel diameter doesn't even matter, but they have different backspace with just that change. An 8" wide wheel is 4" backspace from...

With all the other changes you have made, and their effects on the handling and loads, getting the last 8mm to get to factory offset would probably not be noticeable in handling or durability,...

Backspacing is easy to figure if you know the offset and width

Backspace = width/2 + offset

for a 7" wide wheel with 28mm (1.1") offset 7/2 + 1.1 = 4.6"

Normally if the offset is the same...

Keep in mind that if you want to go with bigger tire, you would have to get the proper offset pickup truck wheels as the van ones are too narrow for the bigger tires.

Has anyone ever found out...

The best guess would be that it is close to a wash. If it has gone down, it would only be a couple of tenths. The handling has gotten so good that we are driving considerably faster than we used...

Re: Wheel offsets, particularly Roadtrek Chevy

Good question, as it was one of our unknowns, also, when we did this. We went with the MS2 tires partly because of their low rolling resistance claims.

Our test wasn't the best for checking...

Re: Wheel offsets, particularly Roadtrek Chevy

We just got back from our illness shortened trip. Miles traveled was the same, but time shortened a bunch do to DW getting a nasty intestinal issue.

With the now factory offset, oversize wheels...

Re: Wheel offsets, particularly Roadtrek Chevy

We got out today after sanitizing the fresh water system and bedding in the new brakes. This test was done with the MS2's at 65/80psi, which is the same as we ran in the smaller Bridgestones. Drove...

Re: Wheel offsets, particularly Roadtrek Chevy

We got out today for a 200 mile drive to check the speedo, odometer, and Scangauge to the GPS and mile markers. Everything moved about as expected, and our Scangauge guess calibration was right on,...

Re: Wheel offsets, particularly Roadtrek Chevy

We are the closest at the rear of the wheel well on the right side and the front lower lip of the bumper cover on the left. Both are when turned and within about 1/2 to 3/4 inch static, not moving. ...

Re: Wheel offsets, particularly Roadtrek Chevy

Everything finally showed up and got put together for the conversion to the "correct" offset wheels on the C190P. As an FYI for anyone interested, here are the wheels we considered when trying to...

Re: Wheel offsets, particularly Roadtrek Chevy

I have the spare on the left front right now. I used it to do the measuring for the larger tire possibility, as it has the offset I will be using (within 3mm). In and out clearance doesn't appear...

Re: Wheel offsets, particularly Roadtrek Chevy

After a ridiculous amount of very frustrating spec and vendor chasing, I finally ordered some wheels and associated parts today. Wheel vendors are right in there with used car salesman, I think. ...

Re: Wheel offsets, particularly Roadtrek Chevy

Now this is very interesting. We have a spare tire/wheel, mounted at the rear of the RV. If we get a flat, and need to use the spare, we can not mount the flat tire/wheel in the location of the...

Re: Wheel offsets, particularly Roadtrek Chevy

The AR23 is the wheel the Roadtrek uses, in the 7" wide, minus 6mm offset version.

Wheel offsets, particularly Roadtrek Chevy

A thread was started on the Yahoo board by a guy that wanted his spare wheel to match the aluminum (American Racing) wheels on his Chevy based Roadtrek. He bought another of the AR wheels, and then...
