That's a good example of why a charge prevention...

That's a good example of why a charge prevention solution is needed. In your example you'd likely want to prevent charging from the alternator.

A manually operated solution would work but...

If there is a lead acid battery in the mix (chassis bat?) maintained by the same solar panels then it would be easy enough to disconnect / reconnect the lithiums from solar charging when just above...
