Default Potty Question

As evidenced by every pit toilet, poop often defies the law of gravity and goes sideways instead of down. Flush toilets address this with swirling water and brushes. I guess cassettes, etc., get cleaned with brushes? How do composting toilets address it?

I pondered this recently when I realized this is a non-issue with bag 'n bucket because the chute is the bag that gets tossed every day.

Moving the vehicle from time to time helps. If not, I hear you end up with a pyramid.

I'm not referring to the pyramid. I’m referring to the stuff that goes sideways.

I’m not understanding the sideways comment. Are you talking about diarrhea? In gravity toilets you are suppose to put water in the bowl prior. The poop pretty much slides and settles over the gravity dump hole. There is a spray hose in every gravity toilet I’ve had that you can spray down any remnants, or I guess you could use a brush. Good question about composting toilets since they are suppose to be water separating. Nobody ever mentions it or the preparation of coir in what is evidently a non-compost mix remaining in the bowl.

Default Jug of Water

We keep a gallon jug of water in the wet bath. Before the flush , pour about half from about 2 feet help breakup the horizontal issue and everything goes down Keeping bowl atleast half full helps as well.

Half gallon per flush?? That adds up quick. I can shower in a half gallon.
