Hi all - I'm new to all of this
Hi everyone,
I am just beginning my retirement starting mar. 2017. I have been living in Thailand for the past 11 years and now it is time to spend some time back home and see the country that I love.
I am looking for a used (2006 - 2010) Roadtrek, Pleasureway or Sportmobile to purchase cash and I hope to find some good referrals here. I have to visit my in laws, while I can, in Washington State and then I am free to travel to Alaska to see the majesty of nature. I plan to make a 3 -4 month journey each year and need a dependable vehicle. I will be traveling solo so my needs are simple. Any help on locating a class B in Southern Cal. would be appreciated.
I hope to hope the coming years will see prosperity and good fortune for us all. God Bless America!

the more units you can see either live or online and the better you can figure out which features you need and which you do not need - or want to pay for.
I went to lots, looked at craigslist offerings and watched lots of videos from dealers on youtube, I watched the sales guys point out features and watched how easily they moved around the coach
I'm kind of a DIY so I bought a ( craigslist) 2006 PW Lexor TD on a chev, I can work on it and have other chevs so a head start on the location and features and foibles of the GM chassis.
which include service anywhere, by anyone with parts from napa....chev, ford and dodge have an advantage over other "import" brands.
we love it.

Hi All,
Just bought my new rig - 2006 Leisure Travel Van Free Spirit Turbo Diesel. I found it on Craigs list. 48K miles, $38K. all in very good shape.
I'll be headed solo thru Washington State, BC and the Yukon in May - September summer 2017. I'd love to meet up with folks along the way. PM me if you'd like to share a campfire and a cup of Joe.
P.S. Any friends of Bill W. here?

Congrats Steve- Not a friend of Bill, but a friend of a friend(?)...
The coast of Oregon is fantastic if that is in your plan ( we think it better than CA or WA) the beaches tend to be wide flat and windy.
OR has protected most of the land between hwy 1 and the water since the 70's so not that built up and good access
Harris Beach SP in Brooking is great.
a dude named "Campskunk" boondocks and blogs on great spots along that coast- google him.
OR allows overnight parking in pull outs unless within a state or national park or signed.
the State Park system is welcoming and a large percentage of campsites are keep off the reservation system for walk-ins- some campgrounds accept no reservations. (washburne), the casino in Florence is an easy stop off, great restrooms and coffee- what else do you need?
many great mexican rests along the coast- Los Compadres in Florence is very good ( we spent a few weeks around florence, yachats and waldport last year)
there is a place for meetings in Waldport, OR- the bakery next door is unbelievable- people travel to get their breads and baked goods.
BC- have your paperwork handy ( incl vacs for dogs)- if you have had a dui or other infraction, you may need to apply in advance for a "Minister's Permit" and of course, don;t try bringing a firearm into Canada ( they have enough, thanks)
if you are considering vancouver island, check ferries from WA - some ferries charge by length, which can save a bundle by throwing rear carriers or spare tires into the van for the ride.
in anticipation of doing that- a moving or packing blanket/pad cab be handy- a new one can be just spread over the bed, takes up no space and maybe helps comfort

Welcome aboard. In your search, you might try Roadtrek Int'l - they have a FSBO Section. I have used it when I sold an '05 RT190P - had over thirty e-mails, calls and 2 visitors..sold quick! Also, welcome back home, enjoy your retirement, at each place you visit.
