Default Do you wave to other 'Bs' on the Road?

We've been on the road with our RoadTrek 190V for 3 weeks - now in Alaska.
Didn't see many Class Bs in Ariz. or Utah, started to see more in Oregon & Washington. (Hi to Diane G. - Gypsy at John Day, Ore). When we got to British Columbia saw lots of older van based campers & more RoadTreks, PleasureWays & Sprinter types. But, interestingly - the RoadTreks flashed their lights, some waved & even honked horns. RoadTreks are easy to spot coming, so I started to flash lights to them. Most flash back, some flash first & some just wave. Then I decided to wave to any/all Van based campers to see what would happen. Most wave back some don't - as expected.
So I thought - Hey how about if we on this Forum All wave, flash &/or honk to all other B's we see on the road?!! FUN!!
Oh, and we have had a number of people ask about our R/T and say they want to Downsize from their monster rigs with cars in tow. We encourage them - we Love our little Cabin on Wheels.

We just finished our two month trip to Alaska and back. There are a lot more Bs in Canada and Alaska than the lower 48. We generally wave at other Sprinters but not all Bs. Often in campgrounds B owners tend to meet and discuss common issues.

On our way up the Alaska Highway we met another couple from North Caroiina in a 190 Roadtrek at a campground at the start of the road in Dawson Creek. We drove down through Skagway, ferried to Haines, and back up to the Highway. They went up the Klondike Highway to Dawson City, across the Top of the World Highway and back down to the Highway. We both arrived several days later at the Delta Junction visitor center at the exact same time. Generally driving the Alaska Highway you tend to see other travelers making similar stops as you in all kinds of RVs over the 1,500 miles.

We try to wave to all other B drivers, but the only ones that tend to wave back are other Roadtrek owners (I think this is just because we are also in a R/T). Do Pleasure Way drives tend to wave more to other Pleasure Way drivers?

In some parts of the country (USA), we wave to everyone (only a couple vehicles per hour, on the road).

I typically wave to any RV I might happen upon on the road, but I find that for whatever reason, those driving smaller vehicles (or towing a pop-up or small trailer) tend to wave back more often than those driving larger RVs. It's a given (perhaps a law even ) that VW drivers always wave to each other, but I only see other VW campers on the road once in a blue moon these days.

Practicing my both hands on the steering wheel right index finger wave. That's the stoic Minnesota Scandinavian farmer's wave.

Sometimes we pull over to the shoulder, jump out and do a sports stadium style "wave" to other RVs. I guess it's just not as spectacular, when it's only my wife and I doing the wave.
We rarely see them do the same for us, in reply.

On our last trip out, we saw many other class B vans approaching us on the various roadways, and in spite of flashing high beams, or lights on/off, no one responded, except one lady who I believe saw us and waved as we passed each other across a divided highway. We were out east for a week, through New York/New England, western New Brunswick, and north to the St. Lawrence River south shore (aka Gaspe/la Gaspesie).

I wave at RV-ers most of the time when I am in my CLASS B.

Our 2012 Ford SportsMobile is pretty stealth and other than the windows and 4" bump on the top is like any other Ford van on the road. But Yes, I do generally wave, but response/reply is infrequent at best. But when at the camp site and set-up with the top popped and camp set-up, we get many gawks and inquiries.

Minnesotans wave at everyone, but it is the one index finger lifted while holding onto the steering wheel. Immigrants Sven and Ole dictated that restraint in the Minnesota psyche a long time ago.

Or if your emotions run wild with you, a guy just might throw caution to the wind and also toss in a subtle "up nod" of the head. But just one.

Stranger things have happened, ya know? Yah.

Just back from 3 weeks out and quite honestly did not see a lot of B vans on the roads. The ones we passed on opposite sides of the freeways seemed unaware of our presence and waves. After a while, it became more of an exercise in futility so we gave up and stopped looking on the freeways. Still waved or flashed lights on the back roads when we saw another van.
