Finally Joining the Club
I closed the sale from Lichtsinn this week on a one-owner Winnebago Era 70C (great people to work with!). Will pick it up in a week after they've added solar and Mobileye. We spotted one at a dealer in OK last year and it spoke to us. The dry bath was a huge plus, and the slide-out made it more spacious. Having read this forum for this past year, we're well aware of the limitations of that. Will post updates and findings.
Couldn't find any 70Cs to rent to try out the lifestyle, but we did rent Candy from Advanced RV last month. Such fun! And absolutely loved the freedom to make spontaneous choices on destinations and attractions.
Our rig already has a name, "Betty," in honor of the recently-deceased aunt who provided the means to allow us to pay cash. We spent last evening at our local Super Target identifying items to order online and have shipped to Mason City, IA, so we can equip her before we drive her home.
I'd love to hear from other 70C folks about how and where you camp.
