Default What is this relay to?

It has two push buttons (breakers?) one 15 one 20 connected to a very old 30 amp 12 volt relay. Any one have any idea what they might connect to and can I put a 40 amp relay as a replacement? It's connected to the front drivers side engine compartment.

Is this in your 1987 Ford E250 Starcraft Turtle Top Camper Van engine compartment?

Forum member Ron owned a 1990 Turtle Top - bought new.
You could send him a message: http://www.classbforum.com/phpBB2/uc...de=compose&u=7
Maybe his van had something similar.

I figured it out it's a relay that goes to two breakers for my overhead switches.

Glad to hear you figured it out. The only thing I've found to always be true about rv wiring is that is confusing. They add another layer on top of already confusing 12 van wiring. I always read the electrical, appliance and engine threads about anything "close" to what I have. Occasionally enough information will stick that a future problem will be an "Oh ya, it's..."

It's originally a 30 amp relay would it be a big deal if I replace it with a 40 amp?

Sorry, I missed that question the first time around. DUH!

No problem. A relay is not a fuse. As long as you don't use a lower capacity relay is you're good to go.
