I think the 2017.5 Travato also moved the water lines completely inside the coach so they are more freeze resistant.

I'm happy they made the cab step an option. To me, it is just one more moving part that will eventually break.

I have only seen these changes on the G. I have found no review or confirmation that any of these changes will be on the K. I even tried writing Winnebago to confirm that these will also be on the K to no avail. So... waiting for confirmation, but now I'm going to hold off on a purchase until I see a K with the updates.

Removing the beds and tracing the water lines, I find all of the fresh water lines inside on my 2016 59k.

A dealer gave me an official looking WBO "Travato retail Price List --October 10, 2016" pdf. It shows the same updated option list for both the G and K, and includes the new N/C (no charge) "Running Boards--Aluminum w/Undercarriage Lighting (Replaces Electric Step)" item. I've gotten a quote specifically for a "2nd-half" 2017 59K. Right now Fretz RV has a 2017.5 K on their website. No photos, but the webpage includes the WBO option list for the 59K unit, and it definitely looks updated.

On the pdf, the colors offered remain Bright Silver and Granite.

I saw two 59Ks on RVTrader today with the running boards. SO they are putting them on the Ks.

The Sprinter is narrower,
the layout as is will not work.

You will end up with a single bed in the back. (the bed is already very narrow for some people).

The settee will have to be narrower (single seat?) , otherwise there will be no place for the water tank.

The CS Reisemobile DUO would probably be a good answer for a short 4x4 Sprinter if they ever made one in the USA. I saw and toured one of these at a Muncho Lake campground in 2012.

The beds move up and down in that CS Reisemobile DUO and it even has a nice window for each bed. It adds a third seat which would make it more useful as a daily driver, and for camping if a kid could sleep across the front seats. Really neat.

That's exactly what I need. I plan on bringing an electric motorcycle with me and would like to travel with it inside. I also want a short Class B so that I can spend time in cities.

I think Outside Van and Sportmobile can build up something like this too.

Keyne, I recently visited a dealer that had, side-by-side, the Travato G & K and the new Paseo. I, too, was struck by the uncomfortable feeling of my feet dangling in the air while sitting in the K.

The Paseo seems to have solved this problem by raising the floor between the rear beds (which also provides hidden storage). The Paseo's layout is nice for providing a spacious open feeling in the rear in either "bed mode" or "dinette mode". The downside, IMO, was that the bathroom is right behind the driver's seat, making it impossible for driver seat to swivel or recline and essentially preventing the cabin seats from being used to create a meaningful living space. Both flavors of Travato take full advantage of both the front cabin seats. The Paseo's promotion of the bathroom to such a "front-and-center" position strikes me as bad Feng shui: Every time you enter the van through the sliding door, you are practically walking into the bathroom. How often do people actually USE the bathroom in a class B, anyway? Seems like such a prime real estate location is wasted on the bath.

Having used a VW camper van for over 20 years, I can tell you that one of the great joys of van life is pulling up next to a beautiful spot and feeling connected to that beauty through the sliding door while cooking, eating, reading, etc. I guess in the Paseo you would just back up to beautiful locations and hang out in the rear of the coach while enjoying the view. Still, the Paseo appears to be unable to provide a dining area for 2 when bed is down, something both Travato G & K can do.

OTOH, the Paseo's Ford Transit foundation seems like a great feature.

Long Treker, the Ford chassis doesn't offer the swivel driver's seat. It's not a Winnebago issue.
The bath behind the driver's seat has been a class B mainstay for a long time

All of your points are right on. I agree 100%, and therefore, I am sure you must be a very smart dude.

Don't underestimate the Promaster as a "foundation" for a B though. It has been used overwhelmingly as the number one "foundation" in europe for decades. There are many reasons, including:
Front Wheel Drive
Super sharp turning radius
Excellent handling: Fun to drive. quicker, Lighter, and more nimble than competition.
Great visibility
economical and durable
Lower and wider than competition
Low floor level, high ceiling level

I'm a Ford guy, and have owned 1/2 a dozen Ford Vans, but I LOVE my Promaster (Travato). Don't underestimate it until you have driven one..
As far as I am concerned, the only thing Ford has over it is the dually option and towing capacity. Neither of which I have needed (yet)
