Are eco-trek battery packs 12 volts or 24 volts?

I would have to assume 12v based on the fact that they said they could update existing systems on the dealer lots, but if they would be willing to change out the inverter/charger and engine generator regulator, they could probably go with 24v.

I'm guessing there are 24v volt e-trek type rigs on dealer lots also. I'm just curious - can eco-trek tandems be added to those rigs? If so, maybe they get a balancer / equalizer installed as well.

I would guess that the likely thing they would do would be to make the magic boxes each 12v and use 2 for any 24v systems, similar to the two groups of 12v AGMs they use now. Hopefully someone will get one soon, so we can learn a little more and stop guessing as much

Look at this I just found - one of the first eco-treks. I'm a bit flummoxed by the big discount.

Still too rich for my blood. I'm a believer that aftermarket systems will be available for Class B vans in a few years very similar to the Eco-Trek. Just my opinion.

Turns out it is a show vehicle - serial no. 1 for the eco-trek. Not sure a 20% discount for a pre-production is all that compelling.

More sort of info.

on the zion i have learned ever if i can get the tandem battery i would have to remove my spare tire and put on back.

also roadtrek-at least yesterday-is telling zion purchasers that only ecotrek 200 can be put in the battery spot. if someone wants ecotrek 400 they have to move spare tire to back of the van.

one of the big things with me is the tire under the van and not in back.

still thinking

Are they going to make a spare tire mount for the Zion? If not you can use the spare tire mount from a Jeep Wrangler. I used one on my Promaster rear door. $100 and about 1.5hrs. Works great.

they already have a tire mount for the zion-when i had considered getting an onan i ordered it. it's the same one that goes on the back of the other roadtreks that use it

If Roadtrek puts the tire in the back, it will probably be a fold down carrier like the other models, and not a door mount. Has anyone asked Chrysler what their rules are about door mounts? Maybe in the upfitter's guide?

it is the exact same fold down carrier roadtrek uses on other models

however Jim Hammill has said they have only built one zion with the Onan and rear tire carrier.

anyone who wants 400 amps of lithium on a zion will have to get it

Or they could just drive without a spare as I have done for 4 years and will continue to do with my new rig. I want free access to using the rear door and I don't have the strength to get the carrier up and down. (I couldn't even get the little metal pin out to start the process... have no strength in my hands)

Looking through latest on RT FB Group and saw this posted. Pricing sheet for 2016 Zion listing MSRP for all options. Sorry for low-res jpg but that was what was posted.

For my info - what is a "Canadian chassis option (for Canadian dealers only)" ? Costs $10,234.

FYI - no sure if $ are USD or CDN

There is a Zion with rear sofa for sale at Fretz (PA). Here are photos with the rear doors open (plus one of full bed fyi), but difficult to see if there is room for a tire lying flat.
