I agree - it's great that the option exists to rent these vans in the US. If I remember right, you can also rent them at a place in Quebec.

I'll probably wind up deciding between a Travato or a XL...

Another choice: according to the Travato FB group, they are adding rear seatbelts to the Travato 59k floorplan for 2019. It's a very open coach, has a compressor frig, and very roomy sleeping for 2-3...

It does for this "youngster" - but I'd really like to sleep lengthwise. (That kills the Winnebago Paseo for me, which otherwise ticks a lot of boxes, like EcoBoost, Sync3, and a big frig.)

Has...

Yep - should have been clearer - that was USD. $51k for the conversion, and about $1k in options.

I was quoted approximately $52,000 for a 2017 Promaster XL Flex conversion (you supply the van) with options.

I really, really like that floorplan - but it will all add up to about $15k more (and...

Congrats on the new ERA, Mike!

Curious - is Winnebago now building 2016 ERAs with Mercedes' safety equipment package (including forward collision warning, lane departure warning, and blind spot...

Re: 2015/14 Roadtrek Sprinter DEF Adventures with Mercedes

That bothers me, especially since Wendland promotes his career as a journalist, which would seem to encourage telling both sides of a story. Happy that there are other sources of information out...

Re: lexor promaster in driveway

Congrats! We looked at a PM Lexor on Monday at Lazy Days in Tampa as well. (It was raining too much that day to go kayaking, so we went RV shopping instead.) Amazing dealer, especially compared to...

Re: Check out this very cool van Airstream Interstate Grand

I got to spend some time in a Grand Tour at the Hartford RV show. It is a very, very appealing van. Love the long galley, big frig, and the glossy interior finishes. Also liked all of the storage...

Re: Winnebago Travato 59K

I'm trying to figure out how you'd get - and secure - the kayak up on that roof rack, as seen in the video. It's hard enough to get the kayak on the roof of my SUV (and we're in our 40s)!

Re: Roadtrek is making a ProMaster model... Zion

Yep. Wife went "ooooh" when she saw the flip-up bed in the Travato we looked at on Black Friday. (But, having a corner bed in our 23' Airstream, we're swearing off that design in the next RV.)

Re: Roadtrek is making a ProMaster model... Zion

I wish the video showed bicycles stored down the center aisle (you can see the bikes at the back of the shot behind the van.) It doesn't really look all that wide.

I like a lot about this design,...

Re: Safari Condo Ram ProMaster

Another question for you: how complicated is the bed's lift mechanism? It's not like Safari Condo is close-by for warranty work (it's across the border for us), and I get a bit spooked by beds that...

Re: Safari Condo Ram ProMaster

Neat! Thanks for the answers to my questions. I see that Safari Condo is working on a Sprinter-based Flex model as well.

Re: New 2015 Pleasure-Way Lexor on Ram ProMaster

GeorgeB, thanks for posting - I'm somewhat fascinated by this particular van, because it does some unique things we need. We could carry both full-sized mountain bikes and 2 folding kayaks under the...
