Default 2000 roadtrek windows were caulked shut. I don't know why?

another mystery to my newly purchased roadtrek. its a 2000 roadtrek 190 popular. for some reason, the previous owner caulked the 2 side windows in the back of the van. My guess is they either leak or might fall out... has anyone heard of any issues with the rear, side windows? thanks.

how do I find out about any recalls? thanks.

Back out to the main Board Index and scroll down a bit. markopolo
has a sub-section with recalls in it for many of our B class vehicles.
I did see a recall for window problems in the Home and Park recall
topic for model years 1999-2000. Have a look here......

Maybe the previous owner had smelled fumes from his generator...orhe was someone who was going to make sure he never had the fumes coming inside - just a wild guess!! Ron

I had read a couple of reports of the side rear windows not closing completely because the crank threads were stripped. Maybe a 1/16 to 1/8 inch gap. That repair is complex (window has to be removed) so someone may have decided to just caulk them shut to prevent water leaks.

The cause of the stripped crank threads was thought to be over tightening the crank. After reading that I always remembered to not over tighten mine.

You're welcome. Good luck with the windows.

Not long after I bought my 2002 I noticed the rear driver's side window seemed
to not close completely. It doesn't seem to be leaking, but it does seem to not quite
close so that the outer window edges are flush with the frame when closed.
