What happened to him is EXACTLY what has happened twice to me with two different Lithium batteries. My batteries were NOT low, nor were his. He had been driving it and it has solar - and stuff was left on for only overnight (some led lights and usual monitors only).

I had hoped that mine was unique and something off with my system which was misreading the messages from the battery. But since they have the E400 rather than the E200 that I have, they have a different BMS system. So the problem has to be in the battery program.

So, now they have 2 of my batteries and 2 other batteries which have failed catastrophically (taking down both the 12v and 120v systems), and there is really no fix in sight.

I'm surprised that they haven't jerked their thread off the Facebook page yet.

I can't wait to get my AGMs put in...

Maybe it would be prudent not to have your chief electrical engineer for this system be your nephew (graduate student). Not kidding.

It might be how you define "team". I doubt they are remotely the same.

BTW, Gerry, we are still in Nova Scotia. At our pace we will be more than three weeks in the Maritimes before coming back through Maine.

yep. Remember when Jim went on about how they developed their tech with engineering consultants and interns? Nephew was an intern during schooling and now works for a test company that works with Tesla. Still works for Jim one the side.

I puzzled by the way people describe this as bleeding edge technology. 100 GB Ethernet is bleeding edge technology. A system using rechargeable lithium batteries are not bleeding edge technology.

Well, there certainly seems to be a trail of blood.

Ken, why is 100 GB ethernet a big deal?

Nope... absolutely nothing on... battery disconnect switch properly unlit...

so only monitors.

There is no way for either me or Dave that these batteries are dead from a normal draw. My draw was only monitors and his was minimal... on basically fully charged batteries.

And that blood is O+

So was all this development work really an Engineering school senior design project?

The family thing, and a lead engineer fresh out of school, absolutely boggles my mind (which isn't all that hard to do, though)

Maybe they got one thing right as it may be "unmatched in the industry".

Good luck in finding a solution. Hopefully not a indication of future issues.

Man did I get attacked by two fan girls on The FB Roadtrek site. Jim Hammill posted that he got some angry emails. I nicely posted that Jim's way of bashing the comp could be why. I said it didn't personally bother me. When one of the fan girls told me I was full of crap, I provided proof. Then the fan girl got mad because I provided prof, and then called me a troll, and told me I should hang with those motorcycle types who tow outhouses. Obviously some people can't have civilized conversations when opinions are different than theirs. Even if I disagree, I try to reply in a civilized manner. They would never say that to me in person.

You did fine... good that you didn't lose your temper with them, as I must say. It made them look small.
