Default never have flat towed before....

connecting to the tow vehicle i expect is by 2-in receiver and 7-pin connector? how about the 'towed' vehicle....assuming it can be flat towed, what is critical about the front end to allow attachment to the tow bar? thanks.

Here are a lot of moving parts...Your towed vehicle will require a "base plate" which is a pair of fittings connected to the chassis which connect to the towbar and safety chains/cables. Will also require a 6-pin connector that goes to the lights (stop, turn signals, tail lights) and a trickle charger to the battery while being towed, as the braking system causes some drain. Lastly there should be a connection for emergency disconnect switch which is wired from the front back to the dash and activates the braking system if the TOAD comes loose.

Recommed talking to etrailer.com. they have all the vehicle specific parts and how-to videos.

One more thing, your TOAD must be capable of being flat towed. Most automatic transmission vehicles are not. Some manual transmission vehicles have limits or restrictions. Etrailer.com can answer your questions.

Attached picture shows the brackets connected to the towbar (this is a roadmaster, but principles are the same). The curly red lead is the emergency brake disconnect. The "hole" is actually a receiver, and the adapter is the thing that plugs into the receiver and connects to the towbar.
