Default 2016 Roadtrek Zion-newbie shore power & switches

Hi all. It is my understanding that we have an inverter/charger/converter combination so that is why the inverter switch must be on when hooked up to shore power so that our microwave and outlet plugs work. Does the battery switch have to be on too? On our maiden camp out the power went out @ the State Park so we don't know what we don't know. Btw, we also have solar panels. I'm having trouble trying to understand how this all works and what I need to know to watch for. We inherited this from my late uncle and unfortunately he's not helping us much lol, and the dealer he purchased it from no longer sell Roadtreks and have basically told us we are on our own. Your forums have been priceless. Thank you

Welcome to the forum Linbroz!

Typically, you should not need your inverter on for it to transfer shore power to the outlets in your rig. But some of Roadtreks electrical systems work in mysterious ways. Regaring the battery disconnect, we always keep that on when traveling in our van since 12v powers most systems. We always turn the battery switch to off when not living in our van to minimize battery drain.
